Terms & Conditions

Kindly note our packages do not include the delivery/pick-up fee, this will be quoted based on location of event site.

Props are not hired out individually, prop hire is only available in packages with a balloon garland and/or flower arrangement.

Set up and Pack down of our Props:

  • The area for set up must be the same as confirmed during the finalised booking; therefore no change of mind of set up can be made when we arrive unless the area chosen is not fit, clean, safe or stable for our props.
  • The area must be clean and clear of other objects (we are not responsible to clean/clear the area), any delays due to this will incur fees in 15-minute increments.
  • It is the clients’ responsibility to ensure our props are not touched/removed/handled by other adults/guests and especially children.
  • Foreign items cannot be stuck onto our props as this could cause damage to the paint.
  • It is the clients’ responsibility to ensure all DeKaur Events props are kept out of bad weather (e.g strong winds/rain coming through open windows and doors).
  • All our props are for INDOOR use only unless otherwise stated/agreed upon between the client and DeKaur Events.
  • Objects that are not owned by DeKaur Events must be removed from the area prior to pack down (e.g cake and desserts on our plinths and cake stands – please make sure any residues and crumbs are wiped off).
  • Failure to comply with the above will result in forfeit of the bond.
  • Pack downs will happen within the time confirmed prior to booking and any delays of this will incur fees in 15-minute increments. If you know your event will continue until late and you will be busy hosting or enjoying your event and do not wish to be disturbed; please confirm with us prior to the date of event so we can begin removal of props without disturbing you.
  • Please make sure you have taken plenty of photos of the setup prior to pack down so there are no delays when we arrive.
  • Balloon garlands are for the client to keep and to take home otherwise they will be broken down and disposed of on site.
  • For any set-ups at a house please allow parking room for a van/car to park in front of your house or driveway due to heavy and large props, and to avoid delays.
  • Please notify DeKaur Events if your event is held on a higher than ground level so we can ensure delivery will be possible. DeKaur Events requires to be notified prior to deposit being paid as a surcharge applies.
  • It is the responsibility of the client to ensure measurements of hire equipment supplied by DeKaur Events is appropriate for the event space including ceiling heights, door, and stair access. If upon delivery the hire equipment does not fit, DeKaur Events has the right to refuse delivery with no refund of booking cost. If additional delivery is required, the client is subject to re-delivery charges.
  • All deliveries and pick up of goods will be conducted during ordinary hours of 8am to 10pm, any deliveries outside these hours will incur a surcharge.

Deposits, Payments & Bonds:

  • DeKaur events quotes are valid for 14 days only. If a price increase were to occur after the 14 days has passed and no deposit has been received from the client, DeKaur events has the right to charge the client at the new price.
  • The terms and conditions set out by DeKaur Events must be agreed to at time of booking. Please contact DeKaur Events if you do not understand any section of the terms and conditions.
  • All communication between client and DeKaur Events regarding bookings, payments, cancellations and changes are to be through emails only.
  • A 50% deposit is required within 24 hours of receiving your invoice. Failure to do so will result in all requested hire equipment being made available again for public hire.
  • All bookings are confirmed only when a 50% deposit is paid.
  • Personalised signage is non-refundable as it is a custom order.
  • Balance of invoices due 14 days prior to event date. If event date is less than 14 days from date of booking, then the client requires to pay the full invoice amount (including all bond payments).
  • Failure to make this payment deadline will result in goods and services not being undertaken.
  • All payments require to be paid via bank transfers only.
  • Issued bonds cover the cost of possible damage to props and/or flowers as well as missing flowers. In the case that props or flowers are damaged, or flowers are taken, the appropriate amount will be deducted from the bond to cover the cost of the product. Bonds will be returned within 72 hours of event date.
  • If the event date is on a public holiday, a 15% Public Holiday surcharge will be applied to clients’ total invoice amount.

Cancellations, Change of Booking and Variations:

  • If booking is cancelled 60 days or more from the hire date; the 50% deposit will be refunded less $50.00 cancellation fee.
  • If booking is cancelled between 30 – 59 days from the hire date; the 50% deposit will be refunded less $100.00 cancellation fee. At this time, if any personalised signage is under production, the cost of the personalised signage will be deducted from the refundable deposit.
  • If booking is cancelled between 14 – 29 days from the hire date; 50% of total order will be charged (loss of deposit and cost of any personalised signage).
  • If booking is cancelled between 0-13 days from the hire date; No refunds will be given, and you will be charged 100% of your total order. This is due to the fact that DeKaur Events will not be able to book in another client for the same date and to recover costs for time spent on design, logistics and items ordered.
  • Re-scheduling your event date can occur only once and is subject to the new date availability. Deposit paid will be transferred to the new date.
  • If the client requests to re-schedule the event for a second time;a new booking can be made for the requested date, however this will result in loss of any payments made prior to this.
  • Deductions from invoice can only be made at least 60 days prior to event date.
  • Changes made within 60 days of event date may incur an additional charge and is subject to availability.
  • Additions can be made up to 14 days prior to event date and are subject to availability. DeKaur Events will try to fulfill any last-minute additions; however, this may not always be possible.
  • If by unforeseen circumstances out of the control of DeKaur Events, products are unable to be provided, the client has the option of either a full refund of amount paid or re-book products for a later date.
